Educational Therapy

An educational therapist is a professional who combines educational and therapeutic approaches for evaluation, remediation, case management, and communication/advocacy on behalf of children, adolescents and adults with learning disabilities or learning problems.

When a student continues to struggle despite parent and teacher involvement and/or academic tutoring, educational therapy is the next step along with a neuropsychological evaluation or pyscho-educational evaluation by a clinical psychologist.

Educational therapy is individualized instruction that builds basic skills and helps close any learning gaps while considering the social/emotional needs of the child. Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other related professionals allows the educational therapist to formulate goals and utilize proper teaching techniques.
